① Press ▲ to eject the cassette. 
Turn the ON/OFF switch on the side of the cassette to "ON", then insert it again.
② Press ● once to start recording.
③ Press ● again to stop recording.
④ Press ︎  ▶ to listen to the recording.

I want to return the tape recorder. It is expensive for the product and the volume in the recorder is not very audible. I have submitted a return authorization but have not heard back. I gave it a 2 because I did receive the recorder in a timely fashion.
